Another evening of rain around the area means that area football players will be greeted with wet fields come Wednesday morning... and if the sun comes out... it will be brutal... the heat index in Macomb today at one point was 112 degrees...
Despite that high heat index, WIU made it through its first full pad practice today though it was cut short by about 15 minutes because of weather... the players got to spend some time in Brophy Hall pool afterwards... The Leathernecks will hold their first two-a-day session on Wednesday...
WIU volleyball players returned to Macomb today and will start practices bright and early on Wednesday...
Of course, area high school teams in a number of sports begin practice on Wednesday, good luck one and all...
That only means that we'll be in preview mode shortly, hitting area teams for photos and talks with coaches for our annual fall sports preview... but as always, the good times will continue to roll and we'll be living the dream...
